The Crew and Dodge Ball

After the church ran sororities got shut down,  which I was going to be president of, I decided to start a student group. So I got some friends together and we started "the Crew." The idea was to set up co-ed teams and play sports.... I consider it a failure. I imaged 100s of people joining, but only 10 did. Well at least I tried. We held an activity every Wednesday night in the fall semester but spring semester turned out to be more difficult. We couldn't get any gyms. But as I was about to lose all hope, a guy told me about the Naval Science gym. Over looked for it's location and size, the Naval Science gym was perfect for the Crew because it was free! It was a lot of work to do an activity every week so we cut down to just one this semester.

We held a dodge ball tournament the day after Rock the U. I worked on this tournament for about a month. I was very nervous no one would show. I organized it by calling 3 people I knew would be down and I knew had a lot of friends to each be a captain of a team (the crew did the 4th team). My plan worked. and I was very pleased. If no one would have shown up I don't know what I would have done! Blake was also very nervous! 

I did not play because I was the ref... and because I can't throw a ball or dodge a ball. Luckily I'm a lifeguard so I already had a pretty cool whistle (a fox 40 which are the best whistle because they are loud and work when wet. But you didn't know that.)

This is (part) of the winning team. They got a jar of marbles and everyone got a pack of gum. "for all the marbles"... get it.... I thought it was funny. I swear I looked at the package on how to spell marbles, so either I'm crazy or the package is wrong. I think only Blake and Izzy caught my misspell. I worked super hard on that poster too!! If I would have spelled it right I probably wouldn't have had to cram all the letters in there.

If I may say so myself, this dodge ball tournament was a success. Just when I thought I lost all hope in Utah...
