Be Careful What You Pray For

So this week the food situation was bitter sweet.  The members have picked up on the fact that I don't eat very much so they dish me up a lot less.  They have also started making chicken and what they call salads (lettuce and tomatoes, with salt and oil...carrots if you are lucky), because they know that's what I like.  Of course this makes me very happy because if shows that they care and because that is the food I like.  Basically I have been starving all week.  But you know what?  I rather be a little hungry than bloated and fat all day.  It all started when I got very excited over a salad a member made.  I'm very proud of that and now plan to use this strategy in every area.

On a spiritual note a few weeks ago we went to a lesson with the elders because we had found a girl to teach that lived in their area.  It was a very interesting lesson.  These elders had a lot of good (had a lot of what?  not sure what she means here...they were good?  they had good traits?) But also lacked a lot of unity because they are both prideful.  Elder talkswithhismouthclosed said the first vision super fast and lacked any emotion.  I was very disappointed because every good missionary knows this is the most powerful part of the lesson.  The nex week in district meeting we practiced lesson one.  My companion and I practiced on Elder talkswithhismouthclosed.  He was a butthead.  We played a jerk investagator that was bored and distracted because he clearly didn't like how we taught the first lesson.  The first vision part landed on me.  I was excited because I wanted to show him how it is done.  I got two words out and he started laughing!!  I was not phased and continued.  By the end of it we were all in tears.  The spirit was so strong.  He could not deny it.  He stopped the practice and told me that he could feel my testimony as I said the first vision.  HA!  I may not speak Spanish, but I can invite the spirit.

um...this isn't a wall the photo was "damaged".  For some reason I can't get the photo to upload correctly.  In the original photo you can see their feet...so picture feet
