Hannah longing to get out of the MTC
So I'm sure you have heard that story about the girl that was beaten to death in the middle of the street and no one called the police. When the cops asked the neighbors why nobody called 911, they all responded by saying something like, "I thought my neighbors did." Well hello... this happens to me. Ok not getting killed, but most of my family has written me and said "I'm sure you have heard all about baby Korey." NO I haven't! (Editors note: Hannah's oldest brother Dustin's baby was born one week ago. Her name is Korey.)
Funny story though. When I got Amber's letter telling me the baby's name I read it out loud to my district. I was like, "Why?" Then an Elder in my district's face lit up.
Elder in my district: "Like Buster Posey?
Me: "I don't know, who is that?"
Elder: "Oh... a baseball player"
Me: "Oh no.... what team?"
Elder: "The Giants."
Me: "I can't believe my brother named his little girl after a baseball player.... no wait. Yes I can."
Haha I'm just assuming that because I still have no details on this baby and the labor and possible a return to the hospital...
Another exciting event this week. I made it to the "king" spot in four square. Get on my level.
Elder Ballard came last night... Honestly the MOST boring talk in the MTC! But it was good because I learned that the gospel should be taught simply.
Hannah and the other Sisters in her district in front of the Provo Temple. Also note how cute her outfit is in this picture.
Hannah working out, while her companion sleeps. It is nice of her companion to sleep on the couch so Hannah can still work out.
So that's it for this week. However, she has requested for us to "tell her about the world." I think being sequestered from TV/newspapers/ internet (except to E-mail the parents) has already left her feeling out of touch with the world. So leave a comment with your version of "what's going on with the world" and I'll let her know in my next letter to her. Or write in on her Facebook wall under the link for this blog post.
We should also explain that Korey's middle name is Posey and it is indeed not a coincidence that it is also the last name of their favorite Giants player. And Korey did have to go back to the hospital with jaundice, but she's all better now.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't terrible, I promise! ;-). Hannah should be receiving a letter from us (full of details) today or tomorrow. And yes. We did name her after Buster Posey. :-). We LOVE the Giants, and we went to 19 games last season, 13 of those while I was pregnant. Dustin felt her kick for the first time during the World Series. We had so much fun, and we wanted to be able to remember this year forever, and be able to talk to Korey about it. So, her name is Korey Posey Robins. If she decides later she doesn't want to associate it with Buster, she can always tell people it's the flower and that her parents misspelled it (Posy vs Posey). This is also a fail-safe against grandpa making her a Dodgers fan :-p.
ReplyDeleteHahaha. That's super funny. That was always the most frustrating thing when reading emails from my family. They never changed. Every week I just wanted to yell, just someone tell me whats going on! Also, congrats on the new addition to the Robins family!
ReplyDeleteThe pope has resigned. :)
