MTC Prision

Hannah requested I post this for her.  Without further ado, words from Hannah:

The MTC is a lot like a prison. It's got a gate. We aren't allowed to leave. We workout at the same time everyday for 50 min in a cramped gym, etc. Except in jail you get to call home...

The good news is: the MTC Valentine's Day dance is tomorrow night!  Wahoo!!  I'm going with Elder Hansen. It should be pretty fun. It's nice now that the MTC is 50/50 elders and sisters. In fact the new district has more sisters than elders! (That's true).

The Bad news is: the cafeteria is packed! I call it hell on earth.  It's almost not worth it to go to meals. The lines are so long you can't find the end. It's hard to walk around.  People are always bumping into each other.  And sometimes it's hard to find a place to sit.  And don't make any quick movements or you'll hit someone!

In fact I flipped on an Elder the other day. I went to the left-over line because it is usually really short but this day there was a little line.  So I looked ahead and an elder was picking out ALL the chicken out of the stir-fry. ALL the chicken. He had two plates full so I yell "are you seriously picking out all the chicken?" this elder looks at me with the most guilty face and then picks up one of the plates and pours it back in.  The Sisters next to me just started laughing.  Then another Elder says to me "Christ-like love Hermana" and I think to myself "yeah don't take all the chicken."

This story is a hit in the district!  They think it is the funniest story they have ever heard. Therefore I have coined the term "mission humor."  Meaning things that are only funny on the mission.

So here are the Mission humor lows.
"Hey we should all switch seats and trick the teacher"
"The good news, it's Tuesday! DEVO!"
"Oh my.... that was the guy from 'the district'"  (that's right I really did see him, but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture. Next time.)
All time low: the Elders new game of "heads or tails".... Don't worry I don't play.

  1. I'm seriously crying, laughing right now!!!! That's how it was when I was there, except when I was there, the crepe bar jammed up the entire cafeteria and there wasn't a gym and everything was under construction!...and my entire district was 10 sisters in a tiny room. She's got it good and you can tell her I said so, Amber. :)
