Juan and Teresa got baptized

Juan and Teresa are the parents of my convert in Puerto Madyn who got baptized in my second transfer.  I taught the family, but Juan and Teresa had to get divorced and then married to get baptized.  Juan also had to stop smoking which he had been doing since he was a teenager.  When I left Maydrn I left them in good hands.  The ward there really took care of them.  They went through a lot of problems since I have been gone, including heart surgery.  I know all this because I've been writing them and, well, every missionary that goes to Madryn and then sees me gives me an update.  I have been dreaming of the day that Gaston would baptize them.  Finally they got everything together and I called the [mission] president for permission to travel to the 2 hours to go to the baptism.  I thought the missionaries would tell them I was coming.  It turned out to be a big surprise.  It was great to see them and catch up a little.  Gaston is leaving on his mission in July for San Paulo, Brazil.  I gave him another tie, and he thought it was the coolest thing ever.  My face hurt after that from all the smiling.

 Baptism font?
This is Hermana Smith.  I bought her knives because they didn't have a single knife!  The pensions here are crap and the missionaries don't do anything about it until I come and say, "what the heck are you doing living without a towel to dry your hands and clean your plates?  AHHHH"

  1. That is so awesome. I'm so glad her mission pres. let her attend the baptism. What a wonderful way to see the fruition of your labors.

  2. I don't know if Hannah actually gets these messages but on the chance that she does:
Hermana Robbins, this is the best most uplifting post you've ever made. My heart is truly touched and (though I know it's a tool of the devil) I am swelled with pride that you are such a wonderful missionary - and teaching among a people that I grew to love so many years ago.
Thank you for your work and for the weekly insights.
    Judy
