Bio of Hermana Gutierrez:
Hermana Gutierrez is from El Salvador and is 19 years old. The only in our whole mission [from El Salvador] and yet she doesn't know how to make pupusas...huge bummer. Her family was baptized when she was 7. She likes to play basketball and pretty all sports. She is super positive and is always laughing. She is one of those missionaries that makes walking in the street all day fun. Her dad died when she was 12 and her brother died when she was 4 or so. She has had a rough life, but you would never guess it, because she tells all her stories with a smile.
Rawson:
I didn't get a very welcome to Rawson. While we were unpacking our bags they cut the water...for 3 days. We couldn't shower or wash dishes. Then to make it that much worse there was a huge wind storm Friday night and a ton of trees fell cutting the power. When I woke up on Saturday morning I called our leaders and could only get through to the assistance. I totally freaked out and I crawled back into bed and just waited to get the courage to look for my flashlight. I found it and then we studied. Oh and I forgot to mention it's raining all the time. Saturday I nearly jumped on a bus to Comodoro. Well really anywhere from Rawson. Luckily the water came back on Saturday night I nearly cried. A freezing cold shower has never felt so good.
All the elders left us with was a few notes...like 3 people and an empty area book...and a baptism next week...Can't complain too much
Wow ... you "called" your leaders?! In my entire time in Argentina I only knew 3 people who had phones - not counting the mission home. So now I can tease you about being soft!
