Prom Queen for Life: I got bit by a dog

We all knew it would happen. OK I knew I couldn't finish my mission without getting bitten by a dog. It's what I get for trying to be helpful. We were at a member's house and she left the house to go to this other part of the house to get clothes to wash. So I followed her. I didn't even see the dog and the next thing I know it is on my knee! I tried to step back and it got me again! Luckily, I had my boots on. I was too embarrassed to tell the member because she didn't see. When I told the elders they totally freaked out about rabies. But I called the President and the nurse and they told me not to worry about it because the dogs are fine...I'm not so sure about that, but I haven't died yet or gone crazy...So I think I'm OK.

On another note the elders robbed a baptisim from us this week! A few weeks ago we started teaching Atilio in the house of a member in our area. He talks a lot! Like too much. Like I was left thinking...is he breathing? And of course when someone talks that much you kind of want to kill them, right? So I learned a very valuable lesson. If you don't love your investigator the elders will take them from you. The member and Atilito have a very strange dating , but not dating, fighting one minute not the next relationship. So one Sunday the elders happened to b in the path of the member on her way to the house of Atilio so she picked them up and that's when we got robbed because he lives in their area. But honestly I learned a lot. First, that I should love everyone no matter how annoying they are, how much they talk and how many times they say they can't understand my accent, even though I know they don't understand because they are not listening. I also learned that the lord has a plan for everyone. I clearly was not the missionary for Atilio. So when I fail, God made it possible for him to still get baptized. This honestly brings me so much comfort. It is rough out here and I wonder a lot if I'm doing enough and if I'm helping or hurting people and their salvation. But as silly as it sounds I can sleep easy this week because I am reminded that the mission is for me. It is for me to be a better person and if I mess up I know God won't punish those people for my mistakes. It may sound crazy, but it just reminds me how much God cares about every single one of us.
